Expertise
I have over eight years of experience across synthetic organic, organometallic, analytical, and flow chemistry, with a strong focus on catalysis. During my PhD studies I worked on the design of novel hemilabile ligands for gold(I/III) catalysis, leading to a deep mechanistic understanding of these transformations, including the overlooked "silver effect," and resulting in high-impact publications. I am highly proficient in complex organic synthesis, working with air-sensitive compounds (glovebox, Schlenk line), and have hands-on experience with advanced characterization techniques including X-ray crystallography, EPR, SEM, TEM, DLS and NMR. My postdoctoral research at the University of Ottawa involved developing automated production platforms for continuous manufacturing and implementing at-line analytical techniques, such as HPLC. Currently, I am developing enzyme-responsive gold nanoparticles for targeted cancer theranostics.
