About Marijn Hoijtink

My research combines insights from International Relations, critical security studies, and science and technology studies to understand how war shapes technology and vice versa. My research project PLATFORM WARS investigates the expansion of the platform model in defense, and how this impacts military innovation and procurement, practices of warfighting, and regulation and ethics. With Dr. Lauren Gould (Utrecht University), I co-lead the Realities of Algorithmic Warfare project on how algorithmic technology in warfare leads to new and compounding forms of civilian harm.
