6 - 10 July 2020

Participants of the 2018 Children's Literature Summer School. Over 20 nationalities were represented.

The Children's Literature Summer School 2020 goes online

Given the recent developments in the spread of Covid-19 and based on the advice of university experts, the management of the University of Antwerp has decided to cancel the physical version of all summer schools taking place in June and July.  Given the evolution of this pandemic, we are convinced that this was the only right decision to take. Students who had already registered for the summer school have been informed of alternatives. We will soon post more information here so that new participants can register as well.

The third edition of the Children's Literature Summer School will therefore be a virtual one and will offer a combination of lectures, interactive workshops and social activities. It will take place from 6 to 10 July 2020 and focus on three thematic strands: childhood studies, classics of children's literature and research methods.

Confirmed speakers for the 2020 online summer school include:

  • Maaheen Ahmed
  • Clémentine Beauvais
  • Julia Benner
  • Ada Bieber
  • Daniel Feldman
  • Vanessa Joosen
  • Elizabeth Marshall
  • Lindsay Myers
  • Sarah Park Dahlen
  • Kimberley Reynolds
  • Peter Reynolds
  • Sara van den Bossche
  • Helma van Lierop-Debrauwer
  • Alison Waller
