Discover what participants from the first edition had to say about their experience at the summer school. Read how they experienced the academic programme, engaging discussions, hands-on activities and inspiring exchanges with fellow participants.
The Film History Summer School provided a nice break from usual classes and gave us the possibility to watch films we do not have access to (or at least not in this quality). Throughout this intensive week I got to know some very interesting people and was able to enlarge my knowledge on topics I had only been introduced to before shortly.

The programme's unique feature is its diverse combination of theoretical lectures and film screenings from a film history perspective. Undoubtedly, it offers a professional and immersive learning opportunity.

The Film History summer school not only met but surpassed my expectations. Everything--from the film programme to the course contents to the organizers' friendliness and approachability to the warmth and openness of my fellow classmates--will leave a lasting impression on me. It was a stimulating and enriching experience. In short, it was unforgettable. I wouldn't hesitate at all to recommend this course to anyone interested.

FHSS was a really enjoyable week. In a short amount of time, you learn a great deal and get to see films that would otherwise be very difficult to access. It’s an interesting programme that approaches the themes in different ways, allowing your own insights to run free. The Studio is a wonderful setting; it allows you to step away from the academic environment for a while, enabling you to approach the subjects more spontaneously and intuitively. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves film!
