How will we approach the topic?

The approach will be trans-territorial and trans-continental, encompassing Africa, Asia, and other parts of the world. In this way, we hope to provide in this course a useful, global, and up-to-date coverage of Global Hispanophone literatures as a supplement to the more traditionally taught literature in Spanish, which is often reduced to the binomial Spain/Latin America, without encompassing the wider transnational networks in which it is inserted.

As for the chronological frame, most of the course will deal with literature written between the end of the 19th century and the 21st century. The part on Philippine literature in Spanish will be complemented with previous work in the form of a flipped classroom. The materials for this previous work will be extracted from the MOOC on this topic developed within the DigiPhiLit project.
