Tuition fee
- Regular: €300

- University of Almería (UAL) students: Free of charge
The tuition fee includes course material, 1 welcome lunch, 2 bus excursions, 1 visit to the Alcazaba, 1 closing dinner, 6 coffee breaks, and learning activities. The tuition fee does not include travel, housing, or meals other than those specified. Daily lunch menus (first, main, and desert) can however, be purchased at the UAL Comedor for 6 euros per meal. Cancellation policy
Cancellation by the organisation
Should the summer or winter school be cancelled by the organiser for organisational reasons or as a result of force majeure, the organiser will refund the registration fee. Claims for further liabilities or damages are excluded.
Cancellation by the participant
If a participant decides to cancel their enrolment in the summer or winter school, they must notify the organiser in writing. The following cancellation policy applies, unless otherwise mentioned on the website of the specific summer or winter school.
- Cancellation more than six weeks before the programme’s start date: 20% of the tuition fee* will be retained as a cancellation cost.
- Cancellation between two and six weeks before the programme’s start date: 50% of the tuition fee* will be retained as a cancellation cost.
- Cancellation less than two weeks before the programme’s start date: No refund will be issued.
*Cancellation costs are based on the original tuition fee before deduction of the €150 scholarship provided to regular University of Antwerp students. Other types of discounts, such as early bird reductions, are not affected by this policy.
The organiser will not be liable for any further claims, damages, or losses resulting from the participant's cancellation. We strongly encourage securing travel insurance to protect against potential losses resulting from cancellation.
All refunds are processed in euros. The organisation cannot refund any shortfalls due to exchange rate fluctuations or bank charges.
Scholarships
Scholarships for UAntwerp students
Two types of scholarships are available for students who are currently enrolled as regular students of the University of Antwerp.
- A fee reduction of €150 is offered to support participation in a summer or winter school organised by Antwerp Summer and Winter University. The following students qualify for this discount: University of Antwerp students regularly enrolled under a diploma contract in a Bachelor, Master, Advanced Master, Preparatory Programme, Bridging Programme or Academic Teaching Programme, in academic year 2026-2027.
- Scholarship for a short international experience for students who qualify for financial aid by the Department of Social, Cultural and Student affairs (SCS), to be requested 3 months before the start of the international activity.

Scholarships for external participants
Two types of scholarships are available for external applicants.
- Applicants currently living in Spain can apply for a fee reduction and will, if awarded, pay €50 instead of €300.
- Applicants from low and middle income countries can apply for a fee reduction and will, if awarded, pay €50 instead of €300. This category includes applicants who, or whose parent(s), completed secondary education in a low- or middle-income country.
Candidates who are eligible and wish to be considered for a fee reduction can nominate themselves through the application form.
