The 2025 edition was a 5-day practical, inspiring and engaging summer school on ‘social innovation and human centered design in the city context’.

  • Superdiversity in the city
  • Interactive storytelling in the city context
  • Citizen driven design
  • Social care, social city?
  • Creative democracy
  • Human centered design and city challenges
The summer school was such an immersive and exciting experience. Antwerp is a beautiful city, and being able to be a student at the university, being shown around the city with the local students was such a delight and joy, and something I’ll cherish always. Aside from that, the program itself was very well structured, hectic and intense in the best way, with getting to be a part of keynotes and workshops, while working on a live brief from a partner which in our case was a Belgian Design Firm.

This summer school was incredibly well-organized, with clear structure and engaging, hands-on learning materials. The most valuable part was collaborating with peers from different disciplines to co-create one meaningful outcome. We also had the chance to work closely with amazing project partners who listened to us and offered genuine support. This experience boosted my confidence and gave me insight into how design can contribute to social change.
