About Eva Bernet Kempers

Dr. Eva Bernet Kempers has a background in anthropology, criminology, and international law. After obtaining her master's degrees (Cum Laude) from Utrecht University, she completed her doctoral studies on the concept of 'animal dignity' at the University of Antwerp in 2023. Eva specializes in animal law and teaches an annual summer school on this subject. In her current position as Principal Research Fellow, she is expanding her research focus towards the rights of nature. Additionally, she works with the Cambridge Centre for Animal Rights Law as Junior Research Associate (JRA).
