This chair aims to stimulate film education and research at the University of Antwerp, within the context of the Visual Studies and Media Culture research group and the Master's program in Film Studies and Visual Culture at the Department of Communication Sciences (Faculty of Social Sciences). The chair is named after the late Prof. Dr. Em. André Vandenbunder, a pioneer of film studies in Antwerp and Flanders, whose personal archive is managed by the Visual Studies and Media Culture research group.
