Help us fight depression

What does CAPRI do?

The Collaborative Antwerp Psychiatric Research Institute (CAPRI) conducts research into the origin, course and treatment of psychiatric disorders – not only to improve treatment methods, but also to combat persistent stigmatisation.

Brain database

Depression and psychosis are common psychiatric disorders that do not always respond well to drug treatments. Recent research indicates that the immune system may play an important role in the development and course of these psychiatric disorders. CAPRI has a large number of brains of deceased psychiatric patients at its disposal: the UAntwerp-Corsellis brain collection. These brains allow us to examine in detail the abnormalities of the immune cells in patients suffering from depression and psychosis.
