The PHA Chair in Social End-of-Life Care and Bereavement Studies aims to provide insights into dealing with end-of-life issues in an intercultural context. The goal of the chair is to raise awareness of the finiteness of life, death, grief, and loss within our intercultural community. In this way, we aim to destigmatize these topics and improve the quality of life for everyone involved in end-of-life issues, death, grief, and loss. Through research, education, and training, we collaborate in a pluralistic way across sectors and institutions, with individuals and groups/organizations to build knowledge, develop skills, and implement actions that create and consolidate end-of-life literacy.

The chair is made possible thanks to the financial support of Palliative Care Antwerp (PHA).
