The Faculty of Law has the following part-time (20%) vacancy: teacher in the field of international private law.
Position
- You will provide high-quality education in the field of international private law.
- You will assist in the following courses
- Internationaal Privaatrecht (6 ECTS, master of laws)
- Grondige Studie Internationaal Privaatrecht (9 ECTS, master of laws),
- International Family Law (3 ECTS, LL.M, master of laws, exchange students)
- International Commercial Transactions (9 ECTS, LL.M)
- Global Legal Systems (comparative law) (3 ECTS, LL.M)
- You will play a role in developing activating, student-centred and competence-driven education.
- You will supervise an international moot court competition in the field of private international law.
- You will supervise master's students during practical classes.
- You will contribute to the development and coaching of the final bachelor thesis.
- Your teaching role will evolve along with the study programmes.
Profile
- You hold a master’s degree in law. This is a condition of admissibility.
- Your teaching competences are in line with the University of Antwerp’s educational vision.
- You act with attention to quality, integrity, creativity and cooperation.
- You have an affinity with, and preferably demonstrable experience in, private international law.
- Experience in moot court competitions is an advantage.
- You have a good command of Dutch and English.
- You are a good communicator and can effectively convey knowledge to large and small groups of students.
What we offer
- We offer a part-time (20 %) appointment as a teacher for a period of 1 January 2026 until 14 September 2028 (renewable after positive evaluation and in line with the faculty's strategic objectives).
- Your gross monthly salary is calculated according to the pay scale for a principal research fellow in the Contract Research Staff category (Dutch: Bijzonder Academisch Personeel, BAP). If you work part time, your salary is calculated proportionally on the basis of your employment percentage.
- You will receive ecocheques, Internet-connectivity allowance, a group insurance, an income protection insurance, and a bicycle allowance or a full reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.
- The planned start date is 1 January 2026.
- You will do most of your work at the City Campus in a dynamic and stimulating working environment.
