My name is Flore Van Lierde, and I am a Master’s student in Conservation-Restoration at the University of Antwerp. I specialize in the conservation of metals, with a particular interest in archaeological metal. For my bachelor’s thesis, I researched the conservation and restoration practices of metal detectorists, focusing on their knowledge and their practices. I would like to continue this research as part of my master’s thesis, which makes this project a wonderful opportunity for me to learn more about this field and gain a better understanding of the world of metal-detecting. I am looking forward to contributing to this project and to learning from everyone involved.
