Quintessence Consulting: Contributing to the personal and professional development of our DCs
Quintessence Consulting is an innovative Belgian consultancy firm with more than 37 years of experience in people management and organizational development. The company has built a unique philosophy around Purple Management©, which combines a classic hierarchically-oriented business organization (“blue” approach) with an appreciative perspective aimed at integrating individual’s talents and wishes into the organization’s mission (“red” approach). Quintessence works together with organizations and their employees to build a stimulating organizational culture. This is possible by turning the mission and goals of the organization to the passions and strengths of the people who work there.
Quintessence counts on high satisfaction scores from clients and has become reference in competency and talent management. It has succeeded in offering services aimed at creating win-win work environments for both employer and employee, so that both can optimize their growth and strengthen each other. Among the recognitions received by Quintessence, it is worth to mention the 'Certified Member' from Federgon – the Belgian federation of private labour market intermediaries and private HR service providers. Also, the Q*For label awarded the firm in recognition of the quality of its services. Furthermore, the firm has won the Belgian HR Excellence Award on several occasions in the 'Best People Assessment & Testing Company' category and 'Best Learning & Development Company' category.
which means “taking into account hard and soft management parameters, with mission and passion, strong results and strong people, heart and hard figures… The goal is always to arrive at a win-win situation”.
As an associated partner of the OncoProTools Doctoral Network, Quintessence Consulting has contributed to the personal career development of our nine doctoral candidates (DCs) by delivering a services package tailored to our EU-funded project.
At an early stage of their MSCA fellowship, the Doctoral Candidates participated in the Scope³© tool, which provided a competence evaluation based on a solid framework of skills and personal development. More recently, in autumn 2025, they took part in the 360 Perspective© exercise, where colleagues and supervisors acted as assessors, providing structured feedback on each DC’s competencies. The process concluded with an individual report highlighting key strengths and areas for growth. This exercise offers valuable insights to support each fellow’s future career path and professional development. Quintessence attaches great importance to methodology, while following strict guidelines and ethical considerations in their services. Aligning with these techniques and values, Quintessence has largely met expectations and significantly contributed to the personal and professional development of our young researchers.
