The RECHARGE project ensures broad accessibility of its research through:
Scientific publications
The RECHARGE project aims to conduct research and produce a range of scientific papers, including but not limited to the following topics:
- Model applying the water-battery concept to the water-basins;
- Characterization of the water-basins over time, including future forecast;
- Macroinvertebrates biodiversity and implications to WFD;
- Nutrient and carbon cycling within the water-basins;
- Macrophytes diversity across the WFD and implications for WFD;
- Isotopic composition of water and implications for ES;
- Spatiotemporal effects of NBS across Europe on biodiversity and ecosystem functioning;
- Multi-indicator analysis within the SETS framework,
- Catchment scale temporal reconstruction of water quantity and quality (surface and groundwater), biodiversity and geospatial descriptors (land use, temperature, precipitation) ;
- Collaborative process and interaction of stakeholder processes, NBS implementation and indicator data governance.
Newly published articles will be shared here and on the dedicated publications page of our website.
Reports and guidelines
The RECHARGE project also focuses on developing practical reports and guidelines for water managers and policy makers. These will provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to support the implementation of nature-based solutions (NBS) across different river and catchment contexts. Newly developed reports and guidelines will be shared here and on the dedicated publications page of our website
Online dissemination
The RECHARGE project places strong emphasis on online dissemination through its website, social media presence, and webinars. We have developed and continue to update the project website in both English and Dutch, while also sharing project news and developments through our LinkedIn page. In addition, online webinars will be organised to present research findings, share project updates, and engage with stakeholders and the wider environmental community.
Local stakeholder workshops
The RECHARGE project also focuses on active engagement with local stakeholders across all case studies. Each case study is organising stakeholder events to foster dialogue between researchers and local stakeholders, ensuring that feedback is gathered and that recommendations are aligned with local needs throughout the project. Beyond these meetings, several research activities also create additional opportunities for interaction with key stakeholders on the implementation of nature-based solutions (NBS). Particular attention is given to the inclusion of vulnerable groups and communities, supported by a strategy for safe and meaningful involvement.
All dissemination events can be found on the following page.
Brussels forum for policy makers
A forum in Brussels is planned to be organised to provide a platform for presenting findings, discussing policy implications, and engaging with European policymakers to influence decision-making processes. This contributes to the implementation of the renewed WFD and the EU Commission’s Drought impact database.
