Individual career coaching
As a PhD or postdoctoral researcher, you can join a career coaching track to reflect on your career path, whether you are just getting started, halfway through your project, or already thinking about a next step.
Career coaching is tailored to your personal questions and ambitions. Together with a professional coach, you will explore topics such as:
- “What are my career options within or outside academia?”
- “How can I match my values, skills and interests to a future role?”
- “What kind of work environment suits me?”
- “How can I translate my research expertise to other sectors?”
The goal is to help you gain deeper insight into who you are and what you want professionally, and to strengthen the skills you need to actively shape your career. These include self-awareness, making informed decisions, networking and communicating your value in applications and interviews.
Before signing up for individual coaching, we encourage you to first explore our broader offer of workshops and networking events.
Some examples include:
- Applying for a job – Learn how to write a strong CV and motivation letter for the non-academic job market, and how to prepare for job interviews.
- From self-insight to career impact – Discover your values, motivations, interests and strengths, and explore how they can guide your future career.
- Welcome to the real world – Gain a behind-the-scenes look at R&D roles in a corporate environment and learn how to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
- Grow your network – Build your networking skills and make meaningful professional connections.
Postdocs can consult Peoplesoft for the most up-to-date schedule and to register. PhD researchers can register for courses via the Antwerp Doctoral School.
