During the summer holidays of 2025, we upgraded our CalcUA clusters to Rocky Linux 9.
The upgrade includes the following changes (see below):

• new versions of kernel packages, drivers, and system installed user packages
• Slurm updated to version 25.05
• only toolchain versions 2023a and above will be available

Users will need to:

• start using modules from 2023a or above
• recompiling your code and/or recreating your (virtual) environments
• check that their code still runs
• update job scripts (if needed)​

The migration timeline is planned starting July 2025 'till mid-September 2025.

Changes include:

• update of Slurm to version 25.05 (already finished)
• only toolchain versions 2023a and above will be available

• reompile their code and/or recreate their (virtual) environments
• check that their code still runs
• update job scripts (if needed)

During July and August 2025, there is a free test period for jobs running within the rocky9 reservation (which contains nodes that have already been upgraded).
