2025 BRIA Best Paper Award
Kris Hardies, together with three former ACF - PhD students (Fynn Gerken, Jo Mentens en Jonas Vandennieuwenhuysen) received the Best Paper Award from the ABO committee for the Best Paper publicized in BRIA (Behavioral Research in Accounting). Papers publicized in 2022, 2023 and 2024 were eligible for this award.
Eddy Laveren appointed as ECSB Fellow
At the annual general meeting of the ECSB (European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship) on November 15, 2024, Prof. Emeritus Eddy Laveren was nominated and appointed as the 21st ECSB Fellow.
ECSB Fellows are members of the ECSB who are recognized for their outstanding service in the field of entrepreneurship, research/education, and service to the ECSB organization. An ECSB Fellow is considered an honorary member of the organization for life.
Emeritus Professor Eddy Laveren (Department of Accounting and Finance and member of the Antwerp Centre for Entrepreneurship Research) was a member of the ECSB Board of Directors for 11 years and served as president from 2019 to 2021. He was coordinator of the annual RENT conference on entrepreneurship for more than 20 years. He himself organized the annual RENT conference twice in Belgium (2006 in Brussels and 2016 in Antwerp).
Kevin Van Mencxel has been awarded the 2022 Gallais-Hamonno Jury Research Prize in Historical Finance
FBE PhD candidate Kevin Van Mencxel has been awarded the 2022 Gallais-Hamonno Jury Research Prize in Historical Finance. Many congratulations! Kevin won the award because of large-scale archival work and the use of modern quantitative methods in view of bringing new insights into the workings of the Belgian corporate bond market.
