Research focus
Within the domain of wastewater engineering, our aim is the development and optimization of innovative (bio)processes for a sustainable water cycle in industry.
Our main research focus is aerobic granular sludge (AGS), with research expertise ranging from the microbial fundamentals to the full-scale industrial application of this wonderful technology!
Besides AGS, we are also working on (1) innovative biological nutrient removal processes, (2) sensor-based dynamic control of activated sludge systems, and (3) the integrated chemical and biochemical treatment of "difficult" wastewaters.
