Prof Sandra Van Puyvelde new co-chair of Young Academy

On 8 April 2023, professors Sandra Van Puyvelde and Bart Vermang will take over the role of chairs of the Jonge Academie. Sandra is a microbiologist & researcher at the Laboratory of Medical Microbiology of the University of Antwerp, a senior research associate at the University of Cambridge and visiting researcher at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. 

The Young Academy is an independent inter-university and interdisciplinary forum for young top researchers and artists with a vision of science, art, policy, and society. It’s a member-based organisation and consists of about fifty young scientists and artists who collaborate on socially relevant themes outside their working field in the strict sense of the word.
