The 27th Annual Conference of the European Society for Clinical Virology (ESCV), a major event for the clinical virology community across Europe, was held in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 17 to 20 September 2025. Renowned for its scientific excellence and international reach, the ESCV conference is a vital platform for advancing virological research and collaboration.
On behalf of the ECRAID-Base consortium, LMM researcher Katherine Loens delivered two impactful contributions, each summarizing the results of a perpetual observational study:
- Oral Presentation – 17 September
In Session 3 on seasonal respiratory viruses, Dr. Loens presented:
“A Perpetual Observational Study for Acute Respiratory Infections in Europe (POS ARI-ER): Etiology of respiratory infections amongst adults presenting at the emergency room and other acute hospital care settings in Europe.”
This study provides critical insights into the viral landscape affecting adult patients in acute care settings across Europe.
- Poster Presentation – 18 September
Poster P304 highlighted findings from the POS-ARI-PC-001 study, a prospective multicentre observational investigation into the causes of respiratory tract infections in elderly patients presenting with acute symptoms to their general practitioner.
