Rose Bruffaerts receives Young Researcher Award 2024 from Stichting Alzheimer Onderzoek

​The Stichting Alzheimer Onderzoek has awarded the Young Researcher Award 2024 (€ 50.000) to Prof. dr. Rose Bruffaerts for her innovative research into Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). 

The prestigious award recognises her motivation and ambition to contribute to the early diagnosis and treatment of this complex form of dementia, primarily affecting middle-aged persons.

Launching IQ-BRAIN: a new MSCA Doctoral Network project coordinated by UAntwerp

We are excited to announce the launch of the MSCA-Doctoral Network Project IQ-BRAIN, coordinated by imec-Vision Lab and Bio-Imaging lab at UAntwerp.

IQ-BRAIN aims to enhance quantitative MRI by integrating cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) in a trustworthy way to develop faster, improved and reliable neuro-imaging tools.With this European funding, IQ-BRAIN will attract 16 doctoral candidates for an international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral research & training programme in leading European academic institutes, hospitals and companies.

Project SECRET Receives EU Funding to Launch a Doctoral Network Focused on Regenerative Medicine

We are excited to announce that Project SECRET - Exploring the therapeutic potential of perinatal cell SECRETomes - an innovative doctoral network under the Horizon Europe programme - Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action, has been awarded significant EC funding (2.5M Eur) to propel its groundbreaking research. The project will be entirely dedicated to the characterization of perinatal secretomes with regenerative potential for neurological and cardiovascular disorders

At the University of Antwerp, two Doctoral Candidates will be hosted in the Laboratory of Experimental Hematology of Prof. Peter Ponsaerts, in close collaboration with two µNEURO groups: the Bio-Imaging Lab (Prof. Verhoye) and the Laboratory of Cell Biology and Histology (Prof. De Vos).
