MIGLOBA core team supports the Honorary degrees initiative
Recognising the critical importance of the Palestinian question in contemporary global affairs and in solidarity with Palestine and against the genocide that is taking place in Gaza, MIGLOBA's core team endorses the nomination of Francesca Albanese and Noura Erakat for the 2026 Honorary Doctorate at the University of Antwerp.
Both scholars represent exceptional contributions to international law, human rights advocacy, and academic excellence in addressing one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Their work embodies the University of Antwerp's mission to advance "a sustainable world and a democratic and inclusive society founded on human rights."
Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territory occupied, and Noura Erakat, human rights attorney and associate professor at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, have dedicated their careers to promoting justice, accountability, and the protection of fundamental human rights in the Palestinian territories.
Take Action: If you are a student or staff member at the University of Antwerp, you can submit your nomination proposal by July 15, 2025.
