Photo Exhibition
The striking photo exhibition After Heat showcases part of the research project ‘Fuel savings are in the bag: can heat retention bags reduce charcoal use in the DRC?’ by Lara Collart, Sébastien Desbureaux, Marijke Verpoorten, Nik Stoop and Christelle Kabakaba. Vivid images taken by a local photographer document the research process and its findings.
The researchers investigated and tested whether the Heat Retention Bag could offer a low-tech and affordable clean cooking* solution for low-income households in the area around Goma, and how effective this solution would be.
* Clean cooking refers to cooking methods and technologies that reduce air pollution, consume less energy and are safer for people and the environment.
