Expertise
My research focuses on the design and evaluation of safe, reliable, and cost-effective chemical process systems, with a particular emphasis on safety instrumented systems (SIS) in the process industry. I investigate how risk reduction measures can be optimized by balancing safety performance, system complexity, and lifecycle costs. This includes the development of models to support decision-making in areas such as equipment selection, redundancy architectures, and proof testing strategies. In parallel, I have extensive expertise in chemical recycling of plastic waste, including pyrolysis, catalytic processes, and reactor engineering. This background allows me to address safety and sustainability challenges in emerging and complex industrial processes. My work aims to support the transition towards safer and more sustainable process industries by integrating process engineering, risk analysis, and economic evaluation.
