Expertise

Expert in Mirror Neurons, Empathy, and Social Cognition using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) and non-Invasive Brain stimulation, such as transcranial Magentic Stimulation (TMS) and transcranial Electrical Stimulation (tES). Currently, conducting experiments on the effects of microgravity on the Brain using MRI and Electroencephalography (EEG) and Evoked-Related Potential (ERP). Conducts multimodal task-based studies (TMS, tDCS, (f)MRI) using Magstim 200-2, Magstim Super Plus Rapid2, and BiStim Magstim Rapid, Cadwell Magnetic Stimulators, Digitimer, Brainsight, various Soterix tES devices. Integrates NIBS and NIBS-related equipment with behavioral paradigms [CED 1401, Dantec, Grass, Delsys, CED 1902 amplifiers, Brainsight, Matlab, DataWizard, SPSS, Presentation, SPM8, FSL, Signal (CED)]. Provides guidance and work direction to other researchers in collecting and analyzing NIBS-fMRI data. Uses SPM and FSL to analyze MRI data (using R, SPSS). Trains and supports Interns and PhD Students. Certifies and facilitates team training in accordance with NIBS protocol and/or project requirements, including therapeutic, protocol specific, and process training. Oversees the ongoing research programs ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), and regulatory requirements. Partners with physicians to collect patients’ data, and monitored the data validity throughout open trial execution.
