Expertise

My research focuses on the development of robust construction methods using alternative, locally available and regenerative resources, with particular expertise in earth-based construction materials. I investigate how the heterogeneity of natural resources affects material behaviour, processing and performance, and how this variability can be translated into reliable formulation strategies, predictive models and construction guidelines. My work combines material characterisation, rheology, mix design, mechanical performance assessment, model development and process optimisation, with a particular focus on poured earth and clay-rich materials. It extends from laboratory-scale investigations to industrial production and architectural applications. More broadly, my research aims to bridge materials science and architectural practice, facilitating the development and adoption of circular, geo-based and bio-based construction systems.
