About Fran Eelen

Fran Eelen is a PhD researcher and teaching assistant at the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Antwerp, and a member of the MIOS research group (Media & ICT in Organizations and Society). Her research focuses on skincare content on social media and how young girls engage with it. Drawing on the concept of age compression (i.e., accelerated transition to adulthood) she examines the characteristics of skincare content, how young girls experience and interpret this content, and its potential role in shaping their attitudes, perceptions, and behaviors.
