Jan Blockx is postdoctoral researcher in the research group Business & Law.
During the previous four years, he was a teaching and research assistent at the University of Antwerp where he also obtained his PhD. From 2006 to 2016, Jan was a private practice lawyer specialising in competition law at international law firms Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Hogan Lovells.
He holds master degrees in philosophy and law from the KULeuven, as well as a postgraduate diploma in EC competition law from King's College London.
Jan also acts as non-governmental advisor for the European Commission in the International Competition Network (Cartel Working Group).
His specialisation is competition law, but his research also covers European law in general as well as legal theory.
