Emeritus Professor Jan Naudts became Doctor in Mathematical Physics at the Universiteit Leuven in 1973. His current research interests are divided between Information Geometry and Quantum Field Theory. Around 2000 he started the use of deformed logarithmic and exponential functions in order to generalize Amari's dually flat geometry of statistical manifolds. In this context he is associate editor of Information Geometry. On the other hand, collaboration with the research group of Marek Czachor in Gdansk resulted in attempts to develop a mathematically rigorous formalism of Quantum Electrodynamics.
