Expertise
Kris Bonnarens is liaison valorisation manager for the university of Antwerp and the University Hospital of Antwerp. I am the liaison between researchers from the Antwerp University Association (AUHA), the physicians of the UZA and the business community and I want to translate the fundamental research performed by our groups into relevant projects for society. I do this by helping to set up collaborations with industry, negotiating contracts or creating a spin-off.

Abstract
In the life sciences, several AUHA research groups collaborate with the business community on a regular basis. Some of the professors involved may call on an IOF fellowship holder assigned to an IOF consortium to which they belong. In particular, all other professors and researchers from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical, Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences are supported by a central IOF mandate in facilitating collaboration with the business community. For projects in collaboration with researchers who also have a clinical function at the UZA, support is provided from this mandate: IOF Alliance Valorisation Manager UAntwerp-UZA.Researcher(s)
