Expertise

Lieve Hoflack is valorisation manager project development. I am the liaison between researchers from the Antwerp University Association (AUHA) and the business community. My aim is to increase the socio-economic impact of AUHAs research results, and thus let society benefit from the research performed at AUHA. My role is to assist AUHA researchers in setting up collaborations with industry or creating a spin-off. Lieve obtained a PhD in Biotechnology. I have 15 years research experience both in academics and industry in fields ranging from microbiological genetics, mouse models, development of high throughput screening assays, and bio-economy. I also have a broad expertise in acquisition and management of funded innovation (i.e. bringing research to the market) and investment projects. I have first-hand start-up experience.

IOF Valorisation - Project Development 01/07/2021 - 31/12/2026

Abstract

Within the AUHA, multiple research groups work together with the business community on a regular basis. Some of them are integrated in IOF-consortia and supported by a dedicated IOF fellow. All other professors, which are not embedded in the IOF consortia, are supported by a central IOF mandate in facilitating collaboration with industry. A number of valorisation files require specific follow-up. This IOF mandate will be able to pick up these projects independently of any valorisation domain, scientific domain or IOF consortium and thus realize an extra leverage on our valorisation output parameters.
