Miriam C. Quené is a doctoral fellow of the Flanders Research Foundation (FWO). Under the supervision of Prof. dr. Herwig Verschueren and Prof. dr. Dirk Vanheule and as a member of the Government & Law Research Group, she is working on her PhD thesis on the role and meaning of sufficient resources conditions in European migration law. In addition, she is a teaching assistant for the course on Legal Issues of International Employment. 

Miriam graduated from the University of Amsterdam in 2018, obtaining master's degrees in European and Public International Law and in Administrative Law. During her studies, she completed internships at the Dutch Council of State and at the Advisory Committee for Migration Affairs, conducted research at the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service, and served as a court clerk at the Amsterdam District Court. In addition, she studied at the University of Vienna and at Cardozo School of Law in New York.
