Ophelia is a PhD Fellow studying the economic position of creative craft practitioners in Flanders. Her work explores how crafters navigate uncertainty, balance diverse value logics, and develop strategies for economic sustainability. She examines the reasoning processes behind strategic decision-making, the emergence of strategies under conditions of limited resources, and how business models and intellectual property strategies can be operationalised in the craft sector. Her research also considers the role of policy and how they can better support the economic empowerment of crafters.
