Sarah obtained her masters in Forensic Biomedical Sciences (KU Leuven) and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Lab of Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology of prof. Sarah Lebeer, where she obtained her PhD. She mainly works on the female microbiome and its potential in healthcare and forensics. This proceeds in her eagerness for science communication on women’s health and safety. Sarah also passionately participates in talks and activities on topics she considers important for a gender equal and inclusive society. Sarah is currently managing the Isala and GeneDoe project (isala.be).
