    Cryospectroscopic investigation of the Van der Waals complexes of 3-fluoropropyn, 3,3-difluoropropyn and 3,3,3-trifluoropropyne with Lewis acids and Lewis bases. 01/10/2000 - 16/10/2002

    Abstract

    The influence of the degree of fluorination of the methyl group of the propynes on the nucleophilicity and the electrophylicity of the compounds will be measured using the complexation enthalpy of complexes they form with bases and acids. The bases to be used include dimethyl ether and oxirane, and the Lewis acids to be used are hydrogen chloride and boron trifluoride. The study will be performed in low-temperature solutions, in liquid argon, krypton and nitrogen. The formation of complexes will be detected using infrared spectroscopy.
