Expertise
Material Scientist with a physical chemistry background, with several years of experience in the production of metallic nanomaterials via laser-assisted synthetic methods (i.e. LAL). With a multidisciplinary approach, I deepen the understanding of the synthesis, modelling, and characterization of golden-based bimetallic plasmonic nanoparticles, by combining laser ablation synthesis with advanced nanomaterials' characterization methods and computational chemistry. At the same time, to delve into the dynamic of this synthetic kinetic method, i used ultrafast imaging technique such as shadowgraph imaging to study the dynamics of the laser ablation process (such as the laser-induced cavitation bubble and shockwaves) and correlates these to the nanoparticles features. Exploiting my knowledge in optics I also deepen the SERS analysis using plasmonic nanomaterials as SERS antennas, and I develop a Raman spectrophotometer for stand-off detection. Currently working on TEM imaging combining light sourced to study in-situ light-induced phenomena at nanoscale.
