I attended the Children's Literature summer school and found it to be a brilliant experience overall. It was so lovely to spend time with other people who are taking children's literature seriously, and to learn from some really distinguished names in the field. Antwerp is a beautiful city, too, and the excursions to bookshops and to an illustrator's studio were real high points.

As a Puerto Rican born on a small island, never would I have imagined being able to present my research in Europe. I felt so thankful for the opportunity and proud of all I've accomplished in my career. The summer school provided me the space to learn what scholars around the world are doing and how to think deeply about the multiple possibilities we can achieve and do in the field of Children's Literature. I also felt like I made friends for a lifetime as well. Thank you all for this!

The Children's Literature Summer School was an intensive and wonderful experience. The lectures were well structured and delivered with a professionalism and humor that I must appreciated. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, I felt at ease and at home almost from the first moment.

I appreciated very much the variety of formats that facilitated the discussion with experts and peers, in particular the excellent balance between workshops, walking seminars, trips and lectures.
I very much enjoyed the choice of interesting and engaging speakers and high quality of the lectures and workshops. I also really liked that the participants had a variety of backgrounds and the summer school managed to bring academics and artists/educators.
I was amazed by how rigorous academic teaching, often by leading experts in the field, went hand in hand with an open and accessible atmosphere. I can think of no other places where the hierarchical boundaries of the academy are crossed as easily as they were here, and that is entirely due to the strengths and vision of the organizers.
