Expertise
My expertise lies in the field of circular and sustainable construction, with a particular focus on component reuse and increasing material efficiency in infrastructure projects. During my PhD research, I developed the Circular Construction Indicator (CCI) framework, which assesses circularity in pedestrian and cycling bridges based on design, material use, and service life. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Antwerp, where I am developing a research line on urban mining and material stock inventory in the built environment. My current projects are aimed at mapping material stocks in Flanders to enable reuse and circular applications. My work bridges academic research and practical implementation, in collaboration with Flemish and international research institutes and industry partners.
