As coordinator of responsible research assessment, Birgit supports research policy with insights and developments in evaluation practices so that these can be deployed in a meaningful and effective way. Birgit organises the research assessment exercises at UAntwerpen as well as the selections and evaluations of the Centres of Excellence (OEC). In addition, she provides support in the recruitment and evaluation procedures for senior research professors (ZAPBOF). Further, she provides support for applications for the various types of Francqui Chairs and the honorary doctorates.
