Wim Van den bergh is research leader of the Road Engineering Research Section and chair of section Infrastructure of the department Civil Engineering. His expertise focuses on developing an integrated asphalt deformation model, impact of climate change on road structures, sustainable recycling, implementing IT in road construction to optimize quality and sustainability and innovations such as special mixtures for heavy loads (port and airport). He teaches the courses Road Engineering and Asphalt Technology and is internationally active in committees, Erasmus programs and networking.
