About Rowan Daneels

Formerly a guest professor and postdoc researcher at UAntwerpen, Rowan Daneels (PhD) is an affiliated researcher at the Media & ICT in Organizations and Society (MIOS) research group. As a media psychology scholar, he studies the positive and eudaimonic potential of digital games, as well as entertainment media broadly and emergent communication technologies such as VR and generative AI. He’s a board member for DiGRA Belgium, has published in journals like Computers in Human Behavior and Psychology of Popular Media, and is co-editor of The Psychgeist of Pop Culture: Marvel Cinematic Universe.
