In addition to the university's central alumni office, the Faculty of Arts also has two alumni associations: AGUA for History and Filosofa for Philosophy.
In 2011, the alumni association for history graduates was revived. Formerly known as Aenthis, AGUA (Alumni Geschiedenis Universiteit Antwerpen-University of Antwerp History Alumni) wishes to make a fresh start with new members and a range of different activities! Do you want to be kept informed about our activities? Then check our website regularly or become a member of our association on Facebook!
Alumniwijs (previously filoSofa) is the alumni association for students of Philosophy at the University of Antwerp. Alumniwijs organises two debates each academic year, inviting a speaker to introduce the subject matter and get the discussion started. The meeting will take place on week night in the city centre of Antwerp. Graduate students and alumni are warmly invited. If you would like to be updated on all Alumniwijs events, join our Facebook page or visit our website.
In 2003, the University of Antwerp opted to centralise its alumni policy for all seven faculties, embedding this service in the Communication Department. Anyone who has obtained a Bachelor or Master degree or a PhD at the University of Antwerp automatically becomes an alumnus/alumna of the university.
To date, the university has about 45 000 alumni, who live all over the world and work in wide-ranging societal, socio-economic and scientific contexts. The university wishes to be a valuable partner for all of these different groups.
The Alumni Office achieves this by organising social activities and training events, as well as offering services which may be useful for alumni's professional careers. We also update the alumni database every day in order to facilitate contact with alumni.
