You can enrol on a Bachelor programme if you have obtained one of the following degrees in the Netherlands:

• VWO degree
• HAVO degree + preparatory HBO course
• MBO degree + preparatory HBO course

If you have one of these degrees then you can enrol at the University of Antwerp without having to submit additional paperwork to the faculty. You can fill out your pre-enrolment and go to the central enrolment office during the enrolment period.

Please note:

• No selections are made on the basis of the courses you took in the Netherlands, but you will obviously be able to enrol more easily if you did basic sciences at secondary school.
• There is no fixed number of students.
• You do not have to sit an entrance exam for the Faculty of Pharmaceutical, Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences programmes. 
• You pay as a Dutch student the same tuition fee as Belgian students.
• We recommend that you find housing in Antwerp, as commuting from the Netherlands will eat up a lot of your time. 

The Master in Biomedical Sciences and the Master in Biochemistry and Biotechnology are open to a range of students with Dutch academic Bachelor degrees (at least 180 credits). You can find an overview in the table below.
 

 
These are university degrees, not HBO programmes.
 
If you have one of these degrees then you can enrol on a Master programme at the University of Antwerp without having to submit additional paperwork or an admission application. You can fill out your pre-enrolment and go to the central enrolment office during the enrolment period.
 
Holders of other degrees
 
If you wish to enrol on a programme with a different Bachelor or Master degree, please contact the faculty. In practice, you will then have to enrol on the Bachelor programme, but you will likely be granted a number of exemptions which will allow you to obtain your Bachelor degree faster and then enrol on the Master programme.
 
You can also combine the end of your abridged Bachelor with the start of your Master.
 
Send your file to the study programme counsellor to check which exemptions you may be granted. Your file should contain the following:

• Your personal details
• A brief CV
• A copy of your degree certificate
• Copies of your lists of marks, which should mention the score and number of ECTS credits for each programme component.
• We also ask that you check the online programme sheets of the Antwerp Bachelor programme yourself and indicate which programme components you would like to request an exemption for, and why.

The deadline for submitting this application is 30 June.
Keep in mind that it may take up to eight weeks to process your application.

Holders of a Dutch Bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences
 
Only students with a Dutch Bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences will be directly admitted to one of the Master programmes in Pharmaceutical Sciences. 
 
However, to obtain the legal title of Pharmacist, you will need to take a legally stipulated list of programme components. This means you will also be required to take a preparatory programme consisting of a selection of Bachelor modules.
 
The programme has already been decided for students with a Bachelor degree from the University of Utrecht and consists of the following modules:

• Botanical biology and botanical aspects of pharmacognosy (1007FBDFAR – 7 ECTS credits, 2^nd semester)
• Animal biology and introduction to laboratory animal science ( 1030FBDFAR – 3 ECTS credits, 1^st semester)
• Pharmacognosy I: medicinal plants and natural products ( 1021FBDFAR - 7 ECTS credits, 1^st semester)

You have to make an appointment with the study programme counsellor before enrolling to plan your preparatory programme in more detail. If your prepatory programme is fixed you can fill out your pre-enrolment and go to the central enrolment office during the enrolment period.
 
Please note:

• You can NOT enrol on the University of Antwerp preparatory programme if you haven't yet completed your Bachelor programme in the Netherlands.
• If you have already obtained your Dutch Bachelor degree then you may enrol on the Master programme while completing the preparatory programme.

 
Holders of other degrees
 
If you have a different Dutch Bachelor or Master degree, please contact the faculty. In practice, you will have to enrol on the Bachelor programme, but you will likely be granted a number of exemptions which will allow you to complete your Bachelor more quickly and then enrol on the Master programme.
 
You can also combine the end of your abridged Bachelor with the start of your Master.
