The Centre of Expertise for Higher Education (ECHO) aims to develop and support activities aimed at improving and modernising teaching at the University of Antwerp and the university colleges in the Antwerp University Association (Dutch: Associatie Universiteit en Hogescholen Antwerpen, AUHA). In doing so, it wishes to make an essential contribution to the creation of an educational culture that provides a rich learning environment for students and an attractive working environment for teaching staff.
ECHO is active in two domains:
- Professionalisation of teaching staff
This is achieved by organising training courses, disseminating teaching tips and publishing educational publications.
- Conducting research in education
