Urban History 

Urban History, founded in 1992 as the successor of the Urban History Yearbook (1974-1992), occupies a central place in historical scholarship, with an outstanding record of interdisciplinary contributions, and a broad-based and distinguished panel of referees and international advisors. Each issue features wideranging research articles covering social, economic, political and cultural aspects of the history of towns and cities. The journal coverage is worldwide in its scope. Histoire Urbaine, founded in 2000, is devoted to urban history from ancient times to the present. First journal of its kind in France, it aims to raise awareness of the vitality of research in a field constantly renewed and closely linked to the great debates of our society. Founded in 2006, Città e Storia creates a laboratory for analysis, discussion and planning of new research in urban history, with a special emphasis on Italian and Mediterranean urban history in a European context. Website

Ciudades

Ciudades, founded in 1993, is a yearbook that aims to develop a historical framework for contemporary debates on the spatial and social contradictions of our urban environment. Website

Lide Mesta

Urban People, founded in 1999, is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal focused on anthropological studies with emphasis on urban, and related social sciences and humanities. It is the only anthropological journal published in the Czech Republic. It is published three times a year, twice in Czech (in May and December) and once in English (in September). Website

Stadsgeschiedenis

The Flemish-Dutch review Stadsgeschiedenis, founded in 2005, provides a broad forum for an interdisciplinary research on the history of cities and urbanism, both in the low countries and beyond. Website

Mesto a dejiny = The city and history

This new journal, established in 2012, is an initiative of the Department of History of the University of Košice (Slovakia). It offers a platform for new research on Slovak urban history as well as on urban or regional history in general. Website

Planning Perspectives

Planning Perspectives, founded in 1986, is an international peer-reviewed journal of history, planning and the built environment, publishing historical and prospective articles on aspects of city development anywhere in the world. Subjects covered link the interest of those working in architecture and planning; economic, social and political history; historical geography and historical sociology with those in the applied fields of public health, housing, environmental heritage and conservation, architecture and planning. Since 1972, the Urban History Review/Revue d’histoire urbaine has been the journal of Canadian urban history. Its mandate is to publish articles and research notes in either English or French, which further our understanding of Canada’s urban past. Website

Journal of Planning History

Since 1992, the Journal of Planning History provides a scholarly outlet for the growing multidisciplinary cadre of academics and practitioners in the broad field of planning history.
