Abstract
The panel presents results of the “Pleasurescapes”-project, which explores entertainment neighborhoods in the port cities of Hamburg, Rotterdam, Gothenburg and Barcelona during the long 20th century. A round table discussion scrutinizes the potential of ‘pleasurescapes’ as a new concept in urban history and shall pave the term’s transfer to cultural industry and a broader public.
