Venue

The conference will take place in the Ghent City Museum STAM.

Opened in 2010, the museum harbors a broad collection - displaying both Ghent's past, present and future.

Fittingly, the museum is located in the old buildings of the Bijloke-abbey. The Bijloke-abbey (and hospital) was founded in the 13th Century and was a large landowner and a major player on the preindustrial property market in and around Ghent.

To learn more about the Bijloke, we can warmly recommend visiting the museum itself.

All information about the collection, opening hours etc. is on their website.

A guided tour of the new expo 'Gentse gronden' (Lands of Ghent), which will explore the land ownership of institutions like Bijloke and of other groups in Ghent's past and present, is included in the conference.
