In the scope of the European BIOVEINS project (BiodivERsA – Horizon2020) we set up a unique citizen science campaign in which we will monitor traffic-related air quality in urban environments by means of a strawberry plant, spread over, and threated by volunteering citizens. Therefore, we call this citizen science campaign strawbAIRies. This campaign builts further upon former, comparable campaigns, but these were majorly organized in Belgium, including a huge project with more than 10,000 participants. This campaign is for the very first time simultaneously organised in six European countries well spread over Europe. Additionally, we will assess the pollination success of urban insects in all these cities, and try to link this success to air pollution and the availability of urban green in the neighbourhood.
