Effects of climate change

In Flanders but also internationally, climate change is associated with catastrophes and consequences beyond human control, especially with regard to floods. In research commissioned by the Flemish Environment Agency, the research group Environment & Society studied the introduction of climate adaptation (policy) in Flanders.

In a journal article, we looked how differences in the framing of climate adaptation in the Netherlands and Flanders influenced the organizational practices. By referring to existing policy frames, the article explains recent policy choices on climate change adaptation in flood management.
